La Safor is a fast growing and popular area for the British. It is situated in the Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast), an area south of Valencia to Denia on the Costa Blanca. La Safor with Oliva Gandia has some of the best Blue Flag beaches in Europe and statistics show that it has one of the best climates in the world. There is an abundant supply of excellent drinking water, thus avoiding the shortages regularly experienced in some other areas.

There are 32 towns and villages in La Safor including La Font d'en Carros, Villalonga, Ador and Piles all set amongst the vast expanse of orange groves. The countryside is very green compared to other parts of Spain. The best known towns are Oliva and Gandia. Oliva has lots of attractions for visitors with its clean beaches and shallow waters. The Oliva Nautical Club and marina provides moorings and a windsurfing and sailing school. Oliva Nova Golf Course - an 18-hole golf course designed by Steve Ballesteros, set next to the shores of the Mediterranean.

The historic town of Gandia is the capital of La Safor. Gandia is a bustling Mediterranean town offering great shopping and countless bars and restaurants. Gandia has one of the best beaches in the area and has for many years been the favourite holiday destination for Spanish people. There is an excellent rail link to Valencia with trains every 30 minutes and very low fares.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and has been described as "Paris with palm trees". Attractions include its stunning Victorian railway station, Roman bullring and its newly opened science park, Aquarium and Planetarium. You can spend hours shopping in its bustling streets or just relax at one of its many pavement bars. Valencia has been chosen again to host the Americas Cup in 2011 with the Yacht Club at Gandia co-hosting part of the event. This is yet another boost for Valencia, Gandia and the La Safor area. The benefits for the local economy in general and property prices in particular are expected to be substantial.
